i’ve been dying to play the crossover with professor layton they’ve done, too. because whoops i also really really love the professor layton series (although i’m terribly behind in that too, ew i think pokemon is the only nintendo franchise i’ve been able to keep up with).

I’m not sure how much the crossover is for a physical copy but I saved a bit of money downloading both DD and PW vs PL from the Nintendo Store so that might be something to consider, just make sure you have a sim card over 2 GB in your 3DS, it just barely doesn’t have enough to hold both games and I had to buy a second one just to put the crossover on.

And I love Layton but I positively suck at puzzle games, I never got past more than five puzzle in Curious Village, so you’re doing better than me haha. So I’ll be a little screwed when I get around to playing the crossover but hopefully I’ll be able to beat it xD
